Diesel Mechanic Major Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance on all assigned vehicles IAW check list and schedule, ensuring all paperwork is properly and accurately completed.

• Diagnose and repair discrepancies found during preventative maintenance ensuring all paperwork is properly and accurately completed

• Perform service calls on vehicles that suffer a failure while in service, determining the best course of action for repair taking into consideration operational needs of the company ensuring all paperwork is properly and accurately completed

• Determine appropriate course of action for repairs and evaluate completion of repairs and return of vehicle to ready status prior to release to operations

• Evaluate DVCR’s for immediate repairable concerns

• Ensure safe use of all shop equipment, power and hand held tools

• Monitor revenue vehicle fluid levels to ensure safe operation

• Transport vehicles to and from the shop and local vendors abiding by all FT safety regulations

• Perform minor facility maintenance as needed

• Adhere to company safety policies and attend mandatory safety meetings.

Diesel Mechanic Qualifications:

• A valid driver’s license is required.

• Proven experience monitoring and meeting PM schedules

• Proven experience operating repair shop equipment

• 3+ years of diesel repair employment experience or a combination of education & experience.

• Must have appropriate mechanic’s tool set.

• ASE certifications are preferred. Must participate in company ASE certification program (company training, testing, and bonuses provided!)

• Excellent verbal communications skills

• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
