This newly created role will play an instrumental role in setting the infrastructure required to enable Transdev Canada to continue its growth trajectory sustainably.
Your Primary Responsibilities
Own the management of staff movements, registration and reception of new employees, promotions, transfers, employment termination, leave, etc.
Ensure well-documented changes within the supported teams in the HR system.
Follow up on temporary contracts to ensure renewal (VISA, VIE program, etc.), if applicable.
Administratively manage employee files: build files, follow up on signatures: contracts, internal policies, non-disclosure agreements (NDA), attach documents, make changes and updates, etc.
Perform system monitoring and data clean-up to ensure the quality of the reports produced.
Offer recommendations to improve our HR policies, procedures and systems around the entire employee life cycle.
Support in configuring newly implemented HRIS – ADP WorkforceNow©.
Assist in documenting procedures and work methods as needed.
Inform employees about Human Resources policies and procedures.
Conduct special projects and research on practices that can be introduced at a national level with provincial leaders’ support.
Act as a change agent in the implementation and deployment of people programs and other business projects.
Investigate complaints brought forward by employees.
Maintain positive relationships with teams and respond quickly to common questions from leaders and employees.
Leverage data to uncover trends and improve people metrics.
Support managers to align with their people budget and calculations on the return on investment around HR initiatives.
Remain aware and informed of industry activities, technological developments, government legislation, and pertinent to areas of responsibility.
Additional tasks may be assigned as organizational needs grow.
Establish recruitment standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
Implement structured processes for interviews, candidate evaluations, tracking job offers and contract negotiations.
Write compelling job descriptions in both French and English for Ontario, Québec, Alberta, British Columbia.
Find innovative approaches to reach active and passive candidates across different platforms and maintain a pipeline of diverse pre-qualified candidates.
Conduct initial interviews with selected candidates, help them navigate through their interview process while giving them an outstanding candidate experience, and keep our ATS (iCIMS) updated.
Headhunt the best talent on LinkedIn, Jobillico and any other relevant platforms, using a personal approach that stands out.
Keep your candidate pipelines clean and provide your hiring managers with proactive updates on the status of the roles you are working on together.
Work closely with hiring managers and provide support throughout the recruitment process.
Assist in coaching and developing leaders with interviewing and selecting candidates.
Implement tools, processes, and a resource library to improve the recruitment & selection process.
Participate in recruitment events within the company and externally.
Stay up to date on industry and talent acquisition trends and best practices.
Have time to work on some exciting special projects - learning about our tech or the latest talent acquisition best practices that we can implement.
Conduct market-specific research ensuring successful deployment of localized recruitment efforts.(e.g. associations, campus, organizations, competitive insight).
Your Qualifications & Education Requirements
Post-secondary education or certification in Human Resources (essential)
Minimum 2 years of experience as an HRBP, Junior HR Generalist or HR Specialist (essential)
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Coordinator or Talent Acquisition Specialist (essential)
Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations
Efficient HR administration and people management skills
Excellent record-keeping skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Experience recruiting for both high volume as well as for specialized roles in national and international markets
Strong experience driving talent sourcing initiatives using a variety of tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter
Comfortable with numbers and statistics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
