Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, you will be a key player in achieving Transdev’s business objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

Strategy and planning (40%)

  • Elaborate, implement and update policies, procedures, SOPs and training materials pertaining to network resource administration

  • Develop and deploy tools to test and monitor network performance

  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and best practices to issue recommendations on technologies increasing cost effectiveness and network flexibility

  • Monitor the network services’ overall performance to ensure satisfactory service provision for all entities and departments

Acquisition and Implementation (30%)

  • Plan and coordinate the installation of network devices and infrastructure across all sites in the company;

  • Negotiate with external partners (e.g.: vendors, consultants, outsourcers, etc.) to obtain products and services

  • Design the company’s various networks (Wireless networks, VPNs, LANs, WANs, VMs, etc.) and associated devices to ensure the network’s optimal functioning

  • Recommend improvements to existing company systems’ architecture and technology equipment and infrastructure

Operational Management (30%)

  • Collaborate with and support internal and external stakeholders regarding the definition of business requirements and the administration of the company’s network

  • Oversee and support the team of network professionals by providing training and presenting recommendations to improve their performance

  • Manage and establish priorities for the architectural design, deployment, maintenance, development and evaluation of all network infrastructures

  • Report on key performance indicators related to IT performance per national and international standards

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements

  • College or university degree in Computer Science (or any related field of study)

  • More than 10 years of experience in network administration (management, development and delivering of network architecture design)

  • Sound understanding of current protocols, SOPs, data privacy laws and best practices

  • Extensive experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and GPO deployment

  • Proven analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Strong project, financial (budget) and network capacity planning

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Knowledge of French is considered an asset)

  • Capacity to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and instill trust in our teams

  • Availability to travel to the company’s pan-Canadian sites to support our various teams (as needed)
