Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Operations, you will be a key player in achieving Transdev's business objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direction to TPA personnel and oversight of claims management practices, including handling of any quality issues.

  • Ensure that risk exposure from claims are always adequately reserved and are adjusted in a timely manner based on the current support in the claim file and new developments. Ensure that appropriate documentation to support reserved value has been or is requested by the file handler.

  • Maintaining a diary for all claims overseen and ensuring that all reporting requirements of carriers and the Company are met.

  • Aiding the securing supporting documentation for subrogation claims and enhancing recovery, including liaison with insurers as needed.

  • Tracking or generating TPA reports for a variety of metrics for Company departments as needed, including Company’s exposure from workers compensation, auto liability and general liability claims.

  • Assisting Company’s locations in submitting information necessary to advance liability or subrogation claims. The manager may also be involved in training of our locations concerning the necessary documents needed regarding claims handling.

  • Assisting file handlers to ensure sound litigation management and efficient performance of external counsel to advance files to the most direct and cost-effective resolution.

  • Assisting the Company (in collaboration with finance department) with insurance planning and procurement, including renewal submissions for various lines of coverage of the Company and its associated entities.

  • Facilitate efforts for placement of insurance policies, surety bonds, and supporting administrative services (e.g., insurance brokers, TPAs, actuaries, and risk management information systems)

  • Directing effective and timely management of insurance certificates, both outgoing issued on behalf of the Company for its various stakeholders, and incoming from business partners (e.g., clients, contractors, and vendors).

  • Actively engaging with external stakeholders to seek opportunities to develop existing programs while identifying and managing current key organizational risks.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with external and internal stakeholders, carriers, vendors, and other key members of the risk management industry.

  • Evaluating insurance policies and respective coverage for accuracy and confirming adequacy of contractual requirements.

  • Developing strategies to minimize loss exposures to reduce the cost of the property/casualty programs and advising senior management of Company on strategies to reduce risks and their related costs

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or college degree (Equivalent or relevant work experience will be considered)

  • Combination of 5+ years of risk management and/or insurance experience (experience in transportation, logistics, or infrastructure industries will be considered an asset

  • Experience in the negotiation and administration of multi-line property, auto, and casualty insurance renewals.

  • Experience in claims management is an asset.

  • Bilingual proficiency in French is an asset but not required.
