The Accountant is part of the Corporate accounting team with the primary responsibilities of performing various general accounting trackers and accruals as well as the accounting for the payroll cycles and related reporting, for flex, hourly and salary workforce.
Analyze, prepare and post journal entries to recognize appropriate monthly expenses, such as legal and management fees and other departmental expenses
Update and distribute weekly/monthly trackers to management on DSO and DPO
Prepare financial data for additional reporting and analysis as required
Prepare payroll entries with earnings and deductions
Manage interface between payroll system (ADP) and general ledger (J. D. Edwards)
Work closely with payroll departments to set up new pay groups, pay codes, and other transaction rules that will impact the interface
Calculate and record journal entries for monthly payroll accruals for the Company
Develop and maintain payroll system and processing schedules
Investigation and adjustment of transactions occurring in the payroll system
Perform monthly account reconciliations
Assist in providing information to internal, external and third-party auditors
Problem solve any payroll matters
Other accounting duties as requested by management
Education, Licensing, and Certifications :
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Experience and knowledge using ADP payroll system
Experience in preparing payroll and tax reports, as well as answering payroll inquiries
Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
Experience with a large-scale ERP system, such as J. D. Edwards, is a plus
Excellent communication skills required (both verbal and written)
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
