About the role: Develops strategic performance improvement programs, processes, and tools for the Transdev US Transit business. As solutions are generated, the incumbent has responsibility to work with the RVPs, AVPs, GMs, HR, Financial Controllers, and other senior operations leaders to implement necessary changes and monitor and measure efficiency improvements and action plans completion. The role is diagnostic and collaborative to foster a clear understanding of business improvement levers and to engrain positive change and improvements throughout specific contracts or the entire organization support functions.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with Operations, Finance and HR leaders, this role employs & develops proper operating models, methods, systems and structure to deliver the financial and operational performance targets.
Understands the Transit business unit goals and long-term plan, executes the operational plans within this context.
Works with field operations and corporate teams to ensure the proper development of an efficient infrastructure necessary to gain important strides. Maintains necessary internal relationships to ensure a balance of operational need & specialty function support – primarily with IT and Finance, but also with Maintenance (helping to monitor & manage expenditures), HR (training and recruiting) and with Safety (as necessary to improve efficiencies).
Develop new tools and reporting dashboards to enhance operational performance and train the teams on how to use those tools. Ensure consistency between the various dashboards developed (Operations, recruitment, Safety, Maintenance) in order to provide better tools to our General Managers, AVPs and RVPs.
Support RVPs and their Ops Directors & GMs to develop operational plan and follow implementation and execution.
Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and reports results; partners with finance, legal, HR, maintenance, purchasing, safety, and other functional areas to ensure efficiency. Once results are reported, collaborates with departments to develop action plans and supports implementation of those plans.
Coordinates with the Group HQ in Paris to ensure standardization at Transdev Group level of the performance management programs and processes implemented in the US.
Ensure development of Run cuts throughout the organization, improvements and applications of SOPs, report on efficiencies gain, evaluate new software for the Runcut team to support the field.
Improve Dispatching standards and QA locations’ timekeeping and Dispatching practices through the VDS implementation team.
Leads process improvement and project management for Start-Ups and Shut-downs.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education, Licensing, and Certifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business, Finance or another equivalent bachelor’s degree required. Relevant experience (8 years minimum) can be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Experience :
6-8 years of management experience at progressively higher levels required.
3-5 years of experience with operational oversight required.
Experience in a Director or Vice President level in Finance or Operations in a medium-size to large company with multiple-location reporting is preferred.
Solid background in Lean six sigma preferred
Mobility company experience Preferred.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Thorough understanding of operations, processes and business metrics.
Strong relationship-builder with strong track record of delivery of proposed KPI improvements. This includes ability to analyze and act upon complex business issues and ensures sound, practical and effective decisions are employed.
Outstanding ability to communicate at all levels within and outside of the organization.
Develops & mentors team of direct and indirect reports.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite application (Excel, Access, PowerBI, etc.)
This position will require the ability to travel to the corporate location various field locations (75%); mostly domestic but occasional international travel may be required.
