Transdev HR Generalist in Phoenix, Arizona

Overview:

The Human Resources Generalist under general direction from the Human Resource Manager will provide administrative support and coordination for a wide range of human resources matters including but not limited to policies and procedures, employee benefits, payroll, new hire orientations, and relationship management. Will be responsible for coordinating and managing employee engagement initiatives including implementing effective ways to build a collaborative and supportive culture. They will be a self-motivated individual who is passionate about improving employee engagement, communication, retention and company culture within a fast-growing organization

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, compliance, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity.

  • Handle all administrative tasks including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, and contributes to the development of policies

  • Administer employee leaves and accommodations, maintaining accurate internal records and conducting regular audits for accuracy

  • Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.

  • Establish/maintain the accuracy of employee records by both manual data entry and auditing the database for all employee record changes including, but not limited to: status changes, pay rate changes, address changes, new hires, terminations, tax withholdings and direct deposit information.

  • Monitor and administer Employee Health and Safety program including administration of leave related public health emergency leave

  • Participate in projects as assigned by the Human Resources Department or other leadership

  • Develop, execute, and evaluate innovative and engaging employee communications campaigns and materials across multiple channels.

  • Collaborate with other team members to design and manage events to keep employees engaged and motivated.

  • Coordinate, manage, and drive participation in employee-engagement-related events.

  • Help adapt and adjust employee engagement programs to ensure employee and business needs are being met.

  • Understand and develop plans to meet the different engagement needs across the company.

  • Develop and report on metrics to support continued improvement efforts for employee engagement.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all information

  • Maintains and Reviews changes for proper authorization and adherence to policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations

  • Prepares ADP enterprise entries; prepares and issues paychecks

  • Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, finance and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g. labor, “ home work”, overtime, leave balances, head count, and retirement contribution reports).

  • Compiles and transmits payroll to ADP (such as hours worked, insurance, and employee identification number, from time sheets and other records) and enters data or computes and posts wages, and reconciles errors, to maintain payroll records

  • Prepare payroll related reports as needed; coordinate with the Finance and Pay Analyst for payroll, overtime, and other financial reporting

  • All other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree (and /or equivalent job experience)

  • HRCI or SHRM certification preferred

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience required

  • Experience with Employee Engagement programs preferred

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Must have working knowledge of all State, City, County employment related regulations and ordinance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that convey complex ideas in a simplified manner.

  • Must be well organized, detailed oriented, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Ability to manage and be discreet with confidential information.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions with minimal supervision to deliver results with self-initiative in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment

  • Bias for action, excellent attention to detail and relentless commitment to follow-through

  • Proven track record of sound decision making, taking ownership, and delivering results

  • Ability to manage concurrent projects, prioritize competing assignments, and work under pressure with tight deadlines and frequent interruptions.

  • Experience analyzing employee engagement and employee sentiment in a mid-large organization.

  • Must have proven skills in managing mass written communications within GSuite or similar systems.

  • Ability to be on call for illness response and COVID-19 alerts outside of normal working hours included evenings and weekends, as needed

  • Confident and skilled in using GSuite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms)

  • Travel up to 20% of the time on an as needed basis

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • 95% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities

  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a computer.

  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.

  • Use hands to finger; handle or feel; and talk or hear; climb stairs and/or ladders.

  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.

  • Must use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Safety Sensitive Positions will also be subject to a physical screening

  • Transdev maintains a Drug Free Workplace and may require participation in a random drug screening program.

  • Ability to qualify for an Autonomous Vehicle Tester (AVT) license in states and positions where it’s required
