Overview
Transdev U.S. has an exciting opportunity for an accomplished leader as Regional Vice President , reporting to the COO.
The RVP will be the business leader and have full P & L responsibility for the Southwest region of the U.S.
You will be accountable for overseeing, leading, directing and managing all aspects of an assigned region’s operations including developing strategies for improved operational excellence, customer service, objectives, KPI’s, policies and business development. Additionally, you will be responsible for motivating and leading staff while optimizing costs, increasing revenues and improving profitability.
Responsibilities
Develops annual operating and business plans and the accompanying financial budget in keeping with the strategic plan
Key focus on maintaining safe operations
Customer service as it relates to passengers
Focus on key performance indicators to improve operational results
Diagnosing / assessing situations and applying appropriate remedies (coaching, performance improvement techniques, mentoring, teaching, and tools) to resolve issues is necessary
Implements and monitors policies, standards, operating procedures, and long-range objectives
Manages budget, long-term plans and associated reporting for the region along with GMs, region safety, HR, maintenance and controller
Provides guidance and leadership to the functional and operations management within the region
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and local team
Assists in the development process for new business; shares joint responsibility for growth with the Business Development team
Ensures the success of all start-up operations within the region

Qualifications
Education, Licensing, and Certifications :
Experience:
8 or more years of relevant transit management experience required
5 or more years management/supervisory experience required
Labor relations experience
Business development experience required
Knowledge of lean principles preferred
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Balancing multiple priorities while functioning in a mobile environment
Basic managerial knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws
Thorough knowledge of laws, ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation
Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to details
Ability to deal with state and local governmental officials
Ability to manage cost control and financial/budget experience across multiple locations
Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs
Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels of the organization
Ability to work effectively with labor, including labor grievances and negotiations
Travel requirement (as a percent): 75% within the region and to domestic HQ; rare but possible international travel

Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
Majority of work (95%) is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities
Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer
The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen
